New Assignment!!!

I have been set a new assignment today, to create an original product box with graphically designed packaging, such as a soap box, cereal box, games box, washing up powder box, or anything to my liking, which is packaged by a box. This MUST be produced and made using the software Adobe Illustrator.

I have to research typical elements that are thought about before designing my box, i.e the graphics/images that are used, font, colour etc, which all have to be taken into consideration before making the packaging.
My names must be part of the brand which makes the product, i have to produce a sketchbook as well with the possible designs that i may take forward.

At hind sight i must say that i am looking at either 'kiddies' cereal boxes or a console game box. The reason for this is because one i am a heavy computer game player, so it will be interesting to me. Or a children cereal box generally contains a lot of 'clip arty' animated characters on the front of them, which i would also enjoy creating and designing.

Here are some examples of some typical children cereal box front covers. You will notice that all the covers have some sort of animated animal character on the front of them which will attract there target audience (children). Also bright and wonderful colours are used to attract them as well.













This is a cover for the leading hit game Call Of Duty. The game is a classic 'shoot em up' game. It appears to have a character/soldier that is from on the game on it, holding a gun, which seems to be; being fired. This is important to the game as the front cover has to try and give a flavour of the whole game, by a single cover of images and titles.
